Rich Mountain Heritage

Cloudcroft's story began in 1899 when the El Paso and Northeastern Railroad built the famous Cloud-Climbing Railroad to bring relief from the desert heat. The village quickly became a beloved mountain retreat.

Today, you can still walk the historic railroad grades, visit the iconic Mexican Canyon Trestle, and stay at The Lodge, a Victorian-era hotel that has welcomed guests for over a century.
