A Labor Day Tradition in the Mountains

Every Labor Day weekend, the village of Cloudcroft comes alive with the annual Hoopla & Car Show at Zenith Park. Rooted in the Heritage Day Vintage Car Show tradition, this beloved two-day celebration brings together classic automobile enthusiasts, local artisans, food vendors, and live entertainment for one of the biggest weekends of the year. With approximately 3,000 visitors, 40 vendors, and 8 food booths, the Hoopla offers something for everyone -- from browsing beautifully restored vintage cars competing for awards to dancing under the stars on Burro Street. It is a weekend of genuine small-town community spirit at 8,676 feet.

Saturday & Sunday

Classic Car Show

Browse dozens of beautifully restored classic and vintage automobiles on display at Zenith Park. Vehicles compete for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards across multiple categories. Vehicle entry fee is just $10.

Saturday 8 PM - 11 PM

Burro Street Dance

Dance the night away under the stars on historic Burro Street. Live music fills the cool mountain air as the community gathers for one of the weekend's most beloved traditions.

Sunday 2 PM

Ice Cream Social & Pie Auction

Enjoy homemade ice cream and bid on delicious pies baked by local residents. A sweet tradition that brings the community together for a good cause on Sunday afternoon.

All Weekend

Arts & Crafts Market

Shop from approximately 40 vendors offering handcrafted goods, local art, jewelry, and mountain-inspired wares. Eight food booths serve everything from festival favorites to regional specialties.

Getting There

Zenith Park is located at 1001 James Canyon Highway in Cloudcroft, NM 88317. From Alamogordo, take US-82 east for approximately 16 miles into the mountains.

Car Show Entry

Spectators enjoy free admission all weekend. Vehicle participants pay a $10 entry fee to display and compete for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards.

Eight food booths offer a variety of festival fare throughout the weekend. From BBQ and funnel cakes to local favorites, there is something for every taste.
